Google has given a special attention to its widely used emailing platform, Gmail this year. Several new features have been introduced this year, making it easier to access mails and customise them as well. However, as a part of major upgrade one of the features that made Gmail more productive than before is the ability to use other Google apps without leaving the tab.
The search giant now allows customers to check their Calendar, Notes, Task Lists and other G-Suite applications without leaving the tab. This is particularly helpful when you are composing an email and need to quickly check for some information.
So how do you add those useful apps on Gmail and use it? Check out the steps below:
Step 1: Open Gmail on your desktop.
Step 2: Check if the panel showing the apps are there on the extreme right side or now. If it’s not visible, you will see a small ‘Show side panel’ on the bottom right corner. Click to view the panel.
Step 3: Click on the Calendar, Keep Notes, Tasks and other apps to get access on the same page.
Step 4: You can even add more add-ons by tapping on the ‘+’ icon below the app icons. This will open the G Suite marketplace. You can download other add-ons from there as well.
Unfortunately, this side panel is not visible on Android or iOS apps. So, you would have to use multi-screen feature to work on emails simultaneously.
On the related note, Gmail recently made it easier to attach files in an email. It introduced ‘Compose Actions’ add-on saves your precious time taken to switch between different tabs and attach a file from a third-party cloud storage platform.
