10 Dos And Don’ts For Dating In Winter

People often cringe at the thought of having to start dating or go on dates during winters. The reasons are diverse. Some couples don’t like the chill outside, some get too lazy to dress up and others feel winters just don’t set the mood for extra fun, you know.

But no matter which bracket you occupy, whether you like to go on dates during winters or not, there are a few things which can always add to a better dating experience during winters. We have listed down these 10 dos and don’ts for dating in winter, and following these can only make things better for you this merry season.

1. Step Out Into The Open & Ditch The Mall Hopping

Since the hot and sweaty summers are gone, you must by all means ditch the visits to mall as part of your date. The cool weather outside should be your cue to take the date outside, and spend “cozy” time together.

2. Groom Yourself, You Ain’t Gonna Impress Her With Your Dry & Dead-Looking Skin

Winters can be extremely drying, so you should take extra care of your skin. If nothing else then ensure you’re drinking enough water, and applying some sort of moisturiser on your face and body. Also, women don’t find chapped lips attractive, neither on themselves nor on others. You might want to look into that too.

3. If You Aren’t On Good Terms With Winter, Try Hanging Out Indoors (At Home)

We totally understand if you’re not too fond of the cold outside, and think twice before getting changed and stepping out of the house during winters. And if you’ve found a partner who feels similarly, nothing like it! Plan a nice, snuggly date in the comfort of your home. Netflix, pizza and chill maybe?

4. Avoid Unflattering Winter Clothing, Try Smart Layering

Again, you might think since it’s winters anything will, but don’t make that mistake. Winter doesn’t mean you put any less effort into your outfits. Also, don’t fall into the trap of opting for unflattering winter clothing. A nice way around it would be to take some inspiration from the art of layering. Give it a try.

5. Brunch Dates Are Perfect For The Chilly Weather

Ditch the evening dates for the afternoon brunches. They give you ample amount of time to hang out and enjoy the sun while you’re out and about.

6. Don’t Restrict Yourself To Fancy Cafes & Restaurants

Cafes and restaurants are passe. We do that all round the year, but winters allow you to explore other fun options such as going to fests and pop-ups, Christmas bonanzas and stuff that can be found aplenty around that time.

7. Look Beyond Coffee When You Think Of Drinks

Winters don’t necessarily mean you go for a coffee instead of drinks. Alcohol is known to keep you warm during winters so maybe think of options like hot toddy, Irish coffee, buttered rum and the likes. Go explore, it’s a long list.

8. Take It Slow, Like The Season

Winter is the lazy season and that’s what you should do. Laze around in the company of your lover, take long strolls or eat out lounging in the winter chill. Go slow and have fun maybe doing nothing besides enjoying each other’s company.

9. Get Creative With Date Ideas This Season

Winters also allow is to indulge in more outdoor activities as opposed to summers. Think of trying out fun activities like trekking and rock climbing, that not only allows you to have fun but also works as a great date idea to be followed up with a nice late afternoon lunch or even dinner.

10. Have Fun Getting To Know Each Other & Falling In Love With Each Other

However, regardless of everything else that we just said, make sure to keep up the spirit of the date. That is, have fun getting to know each other, and find reasons to fall deeper in love with. Just enjoy each other, that’s all. Winter or summer, that should be the main motto.

Give these a try and you’ll see how winter isn’t that bad a time to date after all.
